An unsafe situation

This photo is of an extremely unsafe situation at a company in Durban. Contractors were working on the windows without safety harnesses, safety boots or hard hats on. By law, anyone working at 2m and above has to wear a safety harness, that is secured to a fixed structure (that is not the ladder being climbed on!) The 2m is most commonly measured from the ground to the foot. The OHSA Act advocates that the employee can and should refuse to work unless the correct safety equipment is supplied. Companies employing contractors who will work at heights should also stipulate that work must be in compliance with the OHSA Act.

A persons health is their greatest wealth.

How many people were involved in this ludicrous sign? The guy who briefed it, and the person who passed the job. The sign designer. The sign manufacturer. The installation dood. The general public. Until some clever camera man took a pic!
